III. It’s Up to You
Here to ask ‘What if’ ?

It’s Up to You Manual
At the Up To You, we want to re-claim identity by redefining current value systems. By employing new vocabularies of language, place & event, we aim to challenge traditional ways of seeing, undoing, & at some points disrupting some of the state’s rigid mechanisms.
Through a series of studies, publications & events, we propose a sabbatical, taking place in the hills of Lebanon, away from the firm grips of the city:
Blurring the boundaries of statehood, low-tech, self-built infrastructures allow for a complete unfastening of social structures & architectures of control. Identity is allowed to grow and takes over in the form of hap-hazardness, self-sufficiency, & cooperation.

Culminating in an open-source publication, the Up to You manual aims to redemocratize design, giving agency back to the user. Help comes not in providing ‘solutions’, but rather in building solution-finding tools & platforms.
We are here to ask “what if?”, in a world that doesn’t allow for what-ifs.
In a world of de-risking, we welcome uncertainty, and harness the outcomes of unexpected collaboration.
